Ta Da!

Hooray! I finished the Easter Dresses! I almost gave up on 'em! Getting a great, flattering picture of them... well my friends that is another story! In typical March fashion it is quite windy today. Yes. Very Marchy. I finished Isabel's dress during her nap today, so guess what I did when she woke up?I made her wear it! lol. She didn't mind TOO much. Really. I don't torture my dear children. But they torture me with their cuteness! And when I think about them being teenagers... eek! Torture x 100. lol.

So I am sure you will see 1000 more pictures of these dresses.... unless you can't take it and stop reading my blog! They look very medieval peasant to me. :) Very fitting for my little girls. And Anastasia HAD to wear hers all day... until she wiped chocolate on the very white apron! It is soaking in oxi clean now. Nothing melts my heart like my girls wearing their mama-made dresses... except maybe the fact that they LOVE wearing them because I made them. *sigh*

Hi Clare,

I love the dresses! I wish I could sew :(

When are you going to start selling clothing in your etsy store? I would love to buy a skirt just like the ones you made last spring for your sweet little girls.

Blessings,
Janine

Hi Janine! Thanks so much! Maybe when people stop buying gnomes, I will start making clothes! The hard thing with clothing is that it seems a lot of people sell it very cheap on Etsy... and a ton of people make cute things. So I wonder if I would do well without losing too much time and money because I like buying the nice, overpriced fabric! :)

I do hope to start making more clothes soon! :) Maybe more skirts! They are very simple and sweet.

SOOOOO CUTE, CLARE!!!!!!!!! Well done! And with PLENTY of time for more Holy Week/Easter crafts!!! lol! I can't remember if I commented on your last post, but I adore the blouses. I'm glad you're getting such good use out of that book... all your creations are tempting me to check it out!

Adorable! And so different and unique. You can't find that adorable-ness in a store! Good job getting them done so early. I'm a "night before" kind of gal unfortunately.

Annie- Thanks!! It really is an awesome book! So many pretty, practical things!

Tina- Thank you to you too! :) I am usually last minute, but last years dresses seemed to take forever... so I started a week early! lol. And they whipped up really fast... 1 naptime a piece!

They are lovely! They did go quickly when I made them (last year I believe). Such sweet fabric you used! I agree about making clothes for Etsy. With kids we can't sew whenever we want. You can probable make gnomes while the girls are awake though. You have a product that sells so spend part of your proceeds on the "overpriced" fabric you like for your girls clothes and yourself too!! Happy Easter!!

Hi Jacqueline! Have you tried hand sewing? I think that is a good way to start! There are plenty of tutorials and softie patterns for hand sewing! Once you warm up to it, you might have better luck witht the machine! maybe! lol.

Hi Jen! Thanks! Yes the other apron dress in the pattern takes a long time! But I also had a 5 month old helping me! LOL. I feel like I have spent most of my gnome money on fabric! lol!

Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

You think?

I remember buying you an old sewing machine and you went to town. Your mother and I were amazed! Don't ever stop sewing. You have a real talent!
